We have a yearly tradition of going to the Ionia Free Fair. We mostly go to see (and pet) the 4-H animals. Unfortunately, this year we went on the opening day of the fair and the animals weren't there yet. :(
We were still able enjoy the beautiful day by going on a few rides, getting popcorn, and seeing some of the other animals that were there. (Circus elephants, camels, ponies, bees, etc.)
Adri found a new friend before we left.
Time to let it go so it can eat it's lunch...
"Thank you for saving me!" says the little caterpillar...
Sam stops for a quick sec to take a picture with Daddy.
Yup, more horses...Adri LOVES horses!!!
Carousel time!
Sammy was so excited to have his own popcorn that he didn't put the box down til it was gone!
Wow! Piggies racing!
Close to meltdown, time to leave.
This is my attempt to chronicle our family's daily adventures, love, and struggles.
It is my hope that one day Adri and Sammy will read these stories of their childhood and remember the love, happiness, and adoration that was poured into it each and every day. The two of them are the sunshine in my day and the happiness that has completed my life.

Yay for rain!
Why is this so important? Well, because it has finally rained for just about the first time this summer and we were able to actually take advantage of it. I promised (bribed) the kids with playing in the mud puddle if they took a nap. (They were begging to go dance in the rain) They followed through on their end, so I also had to keep my promise. :)
They might have gotten very dirty, but they thoroughly enjoyed their playtime.
Yes! Dirt! Mud!
Really Mom? I can do this and you won't be mad?
Adri's happy feet...
Sam tries his hand (er, feet) at the the happy feet dance.
If you're happy and you know it stomp your feet...
Time to get the truck dirty too...
Adri's in awe at Sam Man's truck driving skills...
Just the beginning of the "getting dirty" process...
It takes concentration to drive this well...
Sam Man loves getting dirty!
Uh oh! Big crash on our street!
Adri's out to get Sammy...
Complete and total concentration...
Ready?
Set?
Splash!!!
And, she's a little dirtier.
Wow, Mom! This is so fun!
Am I dirty on my face?
Sam's plotting something that involves trouble...
And, the final product. (Right before they were brought in for a bath)

Monthly update...
Our Summer has been busy. Trying to fit all of this fun into three very short months seems next to impossible! We've been keeping busy with beach visits, play dates, sleepovers, trips, and believe it or not, just staying at home in our pj's on the rare occasion. I can't believe that our vacation is already half over!
While I have been busy trying to find wonderful ideas for a third grade classroom, Adri has been busy trying to learn how to write her name and learning how to love swimming in a pool. Sam Man has been extremely busy learning an extensive new vocabulary and communicating his needs and wants very effectively as well as learning how to put his face under the water in the lake and pool. Daddy has been taking off on Fridays to spend extra time with us this summer, when we usually go to the beach and enjoy a picnic lunch. Oh yes, and we have finally become a pacifier free house!!! All of them have been completely banished from the house! The kids did pretty good with the transition and we haven't looked back.
Here is our abundance of pictures from the past month. (YES! It has been that long since I last updated our blog! I don't know how time escapes me each night, but before I know it it is always bed time and I haven't gotten around to blogging.)
Beach day! Burying the kids...
Look Mom! I tattooed myself!
I am Sam Man!!!
Come on Adri, catch me!
Na, Na! You can't get me!
Knew she wouldn't be able to catch me...
Froggie!
I love frogs! Can I bring it home?
It's a frog tadpole!!!
It's ok Sandy, I'll protect you from the scary fireworks.
I know, we'll protect each other!
Fireworks!!!
Ok, maybe I got this!
Sleeping Bear Dunes
Look Mom! Train tracks!
You didn't want to see, did you Daddy?
Car Wash!
The snapper that was caught at the Rockford Dam.
Ice cream, Papa?
Time to catch some frogs, Adri!!!
Daddy's special frog sleepy time trick...
