Random acts of the maniac munchkins...

Hmmm...Which event to begin this post with? There have been so many recently. :) I suppose chronological order will suffice for the purpose at hand.

Adri and Sammy (whom I recently coined as the maniac munchkins due to the maniacal laughter that each of them exhibit when they are doing something naughty together) have been on a spree lately. A spree of mischievous, that is! I'm beginning to think that what one doesn't think up, the other one will. If this is the case, we are in SO much trouble in the future!

This is the surprise I came home to find yesterday evening. Adri decided to "paint". When I say paint what I really mean to say is that she decided that her hand prints belong everywhere in the house.

Next up is Sammy and his fascination with toilet paper. Each morning as I'm getting ready, he pulls an entire roll apart just to see what will happen. I wonder if he'll ever figure out that the exact same thing happens each time?

Bad idea #311, giving the kids a donut with red frosting. It and the donut ended up everywhere. The only consolation is that they both enjoyed it immensely.

Sammy loves to break all the rules. He knows exactly what he's doing too because he'll look at you with this grin and look that says "just tell me no, please". At the Gardens he decided to get in the water table. (Heaven forbid!) Luckily none of the volunteer Nazi's came to yell at us. He found out what happens when you stick your face into a fountain of water. :)

Lastly, I caught Adri in the act. Here she is, pushing her brother. Does she realize how quickly he's growing and what a smart boy he is? He'll remember these things, and when he does, he'll probably catch a snake and put it in her bed some night. ;)

Adri-isms:

(After "washing" the dishes.) Whew! This was hard work! I'm really busy (dizzy) now.

Oh look! I'm Daddy...Don't I just look fantastic in my Daddy glasses?

The dog days of summer...

have arrived!!!

Whew, it's hot outside these past few days. Today might be the single most hottest day I've ever experienced! Of course, we couldn't stay indoors today, we spent all day inside yesterday with Adri sick and so had to escape the confines of our house.

So, today we went to the mall and then Sam's 15 month well child visit. He's weighing in at 23 lbs (little peanut) and 31 inches tall. He's going to be a tall, lean boy according to the Dr. (This was said after seeing him run like a maniac all over the room. Of course he'll be tall and thin, he doesn't sit still!)

This afternoon we visited Wilcox Park, where what might be the only working wading pool in the city resides. Of course, we didn't have our swimsuits, but that didn't stop Adri from wading in and getting her shorts wet. I kept Sammy out because he would have been soaked. We played for awhile there before heading home to get our swimsuits and going to Boo Boo's house to swim.

Thank goodness the water in Boo Boo's pool was only 82. It was extremely refreshing and just what we needed after this long, hot day.

Anyone looking as I pull this plant apart? I haven't heard no yet.

I just wanted to touch it...I won't hurt it.

Mom, you know he's going to totally tear that plant to pieces or else knock it over, just like he always does.

Big boy chair!

We've finally decided to be done with the high chair and get rid of it. I can't tell you how much I loathe that chair and constantly walking around it, not to mention the cleaning of all the parts after each and every meal.

We've changed over to a booster chair that sits on a regular dining room chair. Sammy couldn't be happier to finally be sitting at the table with the rest of his family to enjoy meals. :)

How bittersweet is this? I'm so excited to be done with the high chair but at the same time so sad that he's already 15 months and moving on to a booster. I don't know where the time has gone, but I do wish it would slow down a little...

What's all the hoopla? It's just a chair...

I have to say though, food does taste better when you eat at the table.
From Summer 2011

Ok Mom, seriously, how many pictures can you take of me in my new chair? Geesh!
From Summer 2011

Alright Mom. I know you want to remember this momentous day, but stop now. Seriously.

I'll give you one more smile, but then you have to promise no more photos. :)

Another round of BEACH!

Saturday night we dog sat for a friend. Lala has to be the most precious dog ever. Adri absolutely loved her and carried her around for most of her visit. Sam, well, let's just say that Sam was Sam with her and learned that you can't pick up a dog by two fistfuls of it's hair. It's such a good thing that Lala was accommodating and is used to kids! Needless to say, Sammy was in a lot of trouble after that. A couple of things I learned from this experience. I LOVE dogs, but we will not be getting one for at LEAST two years. I don't have the memory or the time for one at this point in my life since I'm planning to get 6 Master's classes out of the way in the next year (which will leave me with only 2 more to go before I graduate!!!). A dog just wouldn't in our lives while all this is going on. Not to mention that Sammy is just too young for a dog.

Yesterday saw us at Hoffmaster State Park's beach. It was an absolutely beautiful day to spend playing in the sand, the water, and lounging in the sun. A light breeze kept away the heat, making it ideal for getting burnt. Good thing we all slathered on the sunscreen!

At 4 this morning, Adri woke up in our bed and vommited all over me. Needless to say, she's not feeling well. I don't know if it was bad food, a bug, or all the activity yesterday. As I write this neither of us have been back to sleep and she is laying with me, all cuddled up in my lap. As she was getting sick a little while ago she told me that "I need to get sick so I can get all these germs out of my tummy". She's such a smart little girl!!!
