Fall is in the air!

Okay, so somehow we not so successfully made it through the entire summer without posting once.  I'm not sure what happened, or how we ended up getting lost in our activities, but here we are, six weeks into a new school year!  As I've said numerous times, time moves way too fast!!!

Adri has begun kindergarten this year.  She is now a big girl who is very concerned with "filling her brother's bucket", which essentially mean that we all have an invisible bucket that other people "fill" when they compliment or do nice things for us.  Adri has been working hard to be nice to her brother and make him feel good.  (He was at Nana and Papa's last night and she spent this morning putting his train set together so that he would know how much she missed him!  Her exact words!!!)

Adri's teacher is amazing and we couldn't be more excited that Adri ended up in her class.  She's kind, caring, and extremely welcoming.  I can't believe how much Adri has already learned in her class.  She can now write all of her letters and has begun "inventive spelling" words.  With the way she is going, she will be reading in no time!!!

Sam Man began his first year of preschool without Adri.  He sees her in the morning and after school, but he no longer gets to eat lunch with her.  This made him sad at first and he kept telling us he wanted to go to school with "Agee", but we seem to have gotten past that point.  He now comes home every day and tells us about all of his friends and their adventures.

Both kids' favorite thing in the world is movie night.  They beg for it every week.  We pop popcorn, get candy and sit around and watch a movie.  I'm not sure why, but they think it's the most special thing in the world.  (I think it's because they get candy) :)

Currently, we are preparing for Halloween.  Adri and Sam have decided they want to be puppy dogs (Sam wants to be a puppy with a bone).  We are in the process of finding these costumes (if anyone knows of a place, let me know!!!).  Sam can't wait to go from house to house and collect candy.  We've nicknamed him Candy Sam because he will devour any candy that is in our house (even climbing up shelves to get it!).

As usual, here is our abundance of photos (all from these summer--geesh!)...

Adri's bucket filler photo...I told her the letters to write, the rest was all her artistry.

Adri's first day of kindergarten...

Here are some of the pictures from Aunt Shannon's annual strawberry picking...

A little crab apple picking before getting to the good stuff!

It's a team effort!!!  (Actually it was more like a race to see who could pick the good ones first)

Yummy!  Fresh, warm, strawberries!!!

And now for the good part, to eat as many as you can before your tummy hurts...

Do I have strawberry on my mouth?  :)

Time to play in the rain puddle!

Well, of course you put your swimsuit on for this activity!!!

Sammer's happy  pancake!  Whipped cream and chocolate chip eyes.  He scarfed it down!!!

4th of July!!!  Papa brought over fireworks!!!  If you can't tell, Sam's scared of them!

The silliest face Sam could muster...

Nothing like clinging to Daddy, he'll protect you from those scary smoke bombs!!!

A trip to John Ball Zoo!!!

A precarious shoulder ride, for sure!

Wow Adri!  You're wings are almost the same size as a red tailed hawk!!!

Of course, Adri shows Sam the "correct" way to do it.  (I.E. the Adri way!)

Ever stare down a sheep???  Baaaaaaaa...

Adri was brave enough to pet the stingrays, all by herself!

Our trip to Binder Park Zoo...

Once again, Adri has to see what her wingspan is...Who knows, she might have grown!!!

Yearly pose at the Dodo bird...

Had to get the llama's smile...He's a little salesman-y looking...Not sure if you can really trust him.  ;)

We bring them to Binder Park and all they want to do is look for bugs...

Look!  Daddy's a silly monkey!!!

Look out!  Adri's driving!

Don't worry Mommy, I won't get wet!!!

Look at this "kewl" rock I found Mama!

Still not getting wet Mom!

Ok, so I got a "little" wet.

Taking a ride in the convertible!!!  They HATE it, by the way.

Meijer Gardens trip!

Our first time bowling...Westgate Lanes

Pretty hard to get a picture of this one, she's always set to fast forward.

And, he didn't break the lane!!!

Hagar Park

I can climb the tree like Agee!

See, I told you Mom!!!

Caught!  Mid slap!!!

Townsend Park...Crayfish hunting!

Labor Day Parade

Not fond of the loud sirens...

Sam couldn't take his eyes off the tractors!!!

The only thing Adri was concerned with the entire parade...

The frog we caught on the way to the parade.  :)

Sam and his bag of goodies...

Sammer's special day with Mommy and Daddy... Art Prize!

Such a patient little man while waiting for his food!  We drew pictures the entire time.

The best part of eating at Bobarino's...

And, that pretty much catches up until now.  I really need to keep up on this blog or my children won't be able to remember their childhood!
