You Are My Sunshine...: Our little seafood eaters...

Today Matt opened a can of sardines and much to my surprise both kids wanted some! Now, I'm not one for those little headless (I actually haven't gotten close enough to know if they still have their heads or not,) shiny fish all packed in like, well, like sardines in a can with their horrid smell, but to each his own, I guess.

When Sammer started screaming more after Matt opened the sardines I knew there was trouble to be had, but when Adri asked for one, ate it and then asked for more, I just knew these couldn't be my children! Yuck! Of course as a parent you have to say something else. You can't possibly let them know that you think their new sardine habit is the most wretched thing they could eat. :) So I replied with "Wow! You two are really healthy eaters! You're going to grow up big and strong!" Adri was so proud she took another bite of the shiny fish and chewed it to smithereens, smiling the entire time. Mmmmm, yummy.

Tonight we decided to have crab legs for dinner. Matt's first reply when we sat down to eat and he tried to keep up with the kids insatiable appetite for crab was "this is the kind of dinner you get a babysitter for". Trying to break all those crab legs and keep up with the kids was hard work! I reluctantly helped (breaking crab legs is not my thing, I do love to eat it though so I guess it was fair to share the work) get that succulent meat out of the legs and give it to the kids. They gobbled it up quicker than Thanksgiving turkey! :) Adri doesn't like to dip hers in butter while Sammy LOVES his drenched in it.
