Childhood...Morels and dandelions

When I get the time to actually stop and think about it, I can't believe how fast time flies!  It's been two weeks since I last posted and yet it feels like it was just a couple of days ago!  It's pretty amazing how busy life can keep you when you're not thinking about it.

We are winding down the school year.  (Yay!  One on one time with my little tornadoes-every day/all day!)  It's really flown by (only 18 more wake-ups until our last day!) and Adri and Sam couldn't be more excited to end it and begin summer.  (Of course, we actually need to have summer weather to do that instead of this hot one day/freeze warning the next stuff that has been going on.)  They can't wait to pull out their pool, stay in their pjs as long as they want, have play dates, eat outside, go to the beach, and most importantly, go camping for their first time.  We've got them all psyched up, telling them about the stars, campfire, hiking, swimming, unlimited fishing (they are fishing maniacs!), and most importantly sleeping outside in a tent.  It's going to be the greatest time (this coming from Mommy, not the kids), and I seriously can't wait to see them experience it.  A trip to Chicago is also in our near future since visiting there with the kids is all I can think about.  (It's funny how you think of all experiences in terms of how the kids will react to them.  This is actually the factor that determines the excitement and enjoyment of the trip.)

We have been enjoying the summer-like weather that Michigan bestowed upon us for a brief couple of days.  The kids found dandelions and spent a good half hour blowing them into oblivion all over the grass.  (New dandelions growing soon, yay!)  Pardon the repetition of pictures, but I loved getting them blowing dandelions from all different angles.  Blowing dandelions is the epitome of childhood to me, so I had to take a million pictures of them enjoying it.

No dandelion here, just a super cheesy Sam Man picture.  I'm in love!

Adri and her sweetness...

Our Magnolia tree in the backyard.  I LOVE Spring!  I love the flowers, the smells, the excitement of everything new...

Adri and Matt went Morel hunting in the woods next to our house.  They found a bunch of Morels!!!  Adri was super excited to find them and couldn't wait to show me.  Matt cooked them for her and had her take a taste.  She was not excited about the taste.  :)  Matt ended up eating them all by himself.  He, of course, didn't complain.

Adri-ism:
Sam, you're a train boy and I'm an animal girl.  That's just the way that God made us.

Why is blood red?

What's beyond space?

Sam-ism:
I went poo-poo on the potty!  We go to Chuck E Cheese now?

Look Mom, the river's not flooding anymore.
