The Paci Fairy...Back with a vengeanance!

Apparently when we adopted Maximilian we also gained a Paci Fairy in the form of a 73 lbs black oaf of a dog. Either that or the real Paci Fairy is angry that we didn't hold true to our word and she's sent her helper to do her bidding. Either way, we have a destroyer of all things paci living in our home now.

Max's favorite activity has become finding the pacifiers that the kids drop on the floor and chewing them to tiny little pieces. It has become his decision that the kids should quit using them as soon as possible. We've warned the kids not to drop them or they'll be gone. Unfortunately for them they're three and one and often forget.

A paci destroying episode goes a little something like this:

Child crying.

Max? Max...What do you have?

Max chomping as quickly as possible, with a gleam in his eye, just waiting for me to approach him. I approach him only to have him get up quickly and beginning tearing through the house, begging me to chase him. I, of course, play his game, either because I'm not smart enough to walk away or because I just can't stand listening to the whining that ensues.

Me chasing the dog in circles.

Max, get back here right now! You're not supposed to have that! No! Bad Dog! Max!!! Ughhh, you're in so much trouble when I catch you!

Max continues to run until I finally get ahold of him, practically wrestling him to the ground and sticking my hand half way down his throat to grab the paci. The pacifier is chewed to shreds and I'm not sure where most of it has gone. In Max's tummy, I can only assume.

Ugggh, Max! Not another one! At this rate we're going to have to quit before school starts!

Too bad guys, you lost another one. You've got two paci's left and then they're all gone. Use them wisely because we won't be buying more.

We love our new doggy to pieces. We're just having a hard time remembering that we have keep our pacifiers and toys put away or they become Max's possessions.
