Sleepover!!!

We left yesterday morning for our monthly sleepover with the Peterson's. Sara and I take turns each month either going there or having them come to our house. The Daddy's get to stay home and enjoy a relaxing day and night alone.

The first few sleepovers were rough with the kids being so young (we began the sleepovers last summer), but I can honestly say this one went fantastically. Even better than we ever could have imagined. There were a couple of scuffles with Adri trying to be the boss and then Eli taking Adri's pacifier and Stinky Blanky and hiding them (go Eli!!! Thanks for finally giving Adri a taste of her own medicine!!!), but other than that, all the kids slept great (with the exception of Sammy waking up at 3 a.m. for a bottle-all the kids slept through the night! This was a first!!!).

I look forward to these sleepovers each month, not only because I get to catch up with my college friend and best buddy, but also because it's so great to see the kids growing up with each other even though we live on opposite sides of the state. Sara and I hope that these memories will be everlasting and once the kids understand that we do it each month, they will be as excited and look as forward to it as their Mommy's.

Each sleepover begins with us meeting somewhere to eat lunch and let the kids run out their energy (especially the ones that have been cooped up in the car). When we go to Rochester Hills we usually meet at the Great Lakes Outlet Mall, which has to be every woman's heaven. :) You can walk a mile by just walking through it once and the best part is that it's all indoors.

Do you think it tastes like a real banana?

Really? MORE pictures? Lay it off with the camera, people are staring at us.

Ev Dog loves to get his pictures taken!!! How cute is he???
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Ev's not ready to get lunch...He wants to play!!!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Lunch? Did someone say lunch??? I'm hungry! (We ended up having the yummiest Indian food!!!)
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Adri's "almost ready to meltdown" face. Definitely need to get lunch!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Super Eli decided to rearrange the furniture in the mall...
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Why not put it right in the middle of where everyone would walk? It looks so much better there!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

After we finished at the mall, we headed over to the Peterson's house. Sara is much braver than I and suggested that the kids make cupcakes...

First, a little play time...

I will help you Sammy...Oh wait! You're on the train! Move!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Adri fell in love with this train (and took possession of it almost our entire visit), and yet she won't play with the one she has at home...How does that work?
From Sleepover 3/4/11

She loved the train until she found...The Trampoline!!!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Hahahah, hehehe, I've got the train! Adri's going to be SO mad when she sees this!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Always happy Ev...

Sammy found a little static...And a book to chew on!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Do you like my new sunglasses? Pretty sweet, huh?
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Time for the almost 3 year olds to make the cupcakes!!!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

From Sleepover 3/4/11

What do the one year olds do while the older children make cupcakes? Enjoy cheerios of course!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Ev and Sam discuss the distinct grain flavor in the Cheerios...
From Sleepover 3/4/11

You know Ev, someday we'll be little old men sitting around the table like this and playing cards...Can't you just see us now? Still friends and eating cheerios? :)
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Mmmm...Sweet goodness! Half stirred cupcake batter! Yummy!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Oopsie...
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Good thing Mama Sara is willing to clean it up!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Time to add the oil...
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Now to taste the batter...Yup, coming along just fine...
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Eli needs to taste his to see how it's coming along...
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Look Mom! Are you going to try them when their done?
From Sleepover 3/4/11

I know I will!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

I just can't get enough of this raw egg batter! Daddy never lets me eat this at home!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Haha Daddy! What are you going to do when you see this pictures? :)
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Filling the cups...The batter is only about halfway mixed. :)
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Boy Adri, that sure looks good! I'd really like to try it...Do you see the drool dripping down my chin?
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Aaaarrrrgggghhh! She's not going to share!!! She never shares! I can't wait until someday when she wants ME to share...She'll be sorry!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Adri told Eli not to eat the cupcake paper...Eli decides that Adri's not the boss and eats the paper to show her that he's in total control...These two are a pair, that's for sure!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Whatever Adri! I'll do what I want! And, this tastes good! So there!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Yuck! So ok, this doesn't taste so good. But there's no way she's going to win! I will go down fighting (or chewing in this case!)
From Sleepover 3/4/11

Can you believe those two? Geesh!
From Sleepover 3/4/11

I'm not so concerned with them right now Ev...I think I lost some cheerios in my chair.
From Sleepover 3/4/11

We had planned to take the kids to the Children's Museum in Detroit this morning, but woke up to freezing rain and twenty car pile ups on the nearby expressways. When we finally did venture out after the ice had melted, we ate at McDonald's and let the kids play (much to the disappointment of the few other catty mother's who thought they were dining in a four star, adult only restaurant and making comments about our children). We ended up having an easy drive home and getting back shortly before Matt got home from work. Both kids missed him so much that Adri ran and gave him a huge bear hug while Sammy crawled as quickly as he could and then cuddled and kissed his Daddy.

On another exciting note...Adri has not had an accident in four days!!! She even went poop and pee over at the Peterson's house! I am so so so proud and excited! I feel like we are finally on the potty training track! Adri's pretty excited to be such a big girl and tells me over and over that she "doesn't go poop in a diaper anymore, only on the potty." And then asks if that "makes you so happy and excited and proud?"

Oh yes...more than she will ever know!

Thanks Eric, Sara, Eli, and Ev for the great sleepover, pizza and fun! We love you!!!
