Adri and I just finished our movie night and cuddling time. When I asked her if she would always have movie nights with me she said "I will Mama. Forever and ever. Even when I grow up." I am going to forever hold her to that. :) I can just see her when she's in college, coming home and snuggling with her old Mama on the couch and watching a movie together, just like old times. I'm so glad that I started this tradition with her when she turned two. I think we both really look forward to it and think of it as our special time.
Adri invited Sam to watch the movie with us also. I told her that you had to be at least two to stay up and watch a movie for movie night. Poor Sam didn't seem to mind, he just wanted to go to bed after his long day.
We watched Gnomeo and Juliet. What an adorable movie! Adri couldn't keep her eyes off of it and actually sat still the ENTIRE movie! Either she's growing up or she really really liked the movie. She was begging to watch it again after it ended too, although I think this was just her secret ploy to stay up a little later than she already had.
We didn't make it down to Festival today. Two cranky, tired kids, a large crowd, the sun, and loud noise just didn't seem like it would be worth the energy I had left. I'm thinking of bringing them there tomorrow morning, hopefully before it gets busy and they get tired. It should be interesting. The two of them and just me, with Adri begging to do the art and Sammy having to stay confined (or held). It should be fun! (Matt plans to stay home and paint the back porch, since that's where Sam likes to spend most of his time these days.)
Sammy-isms:
Tank Tu (Thank you)
Ha, Ha.
Adri-isms:
Me: Oh no! I hope they find Gnomeo and Juliet!
Adri: Mama, you don't say that! It's a movie, you don't talk to it.
This is my attempt to chronicle our family's daily adventures, love, and struggles.
It is my hope that one day Adri and Sammy will read these stories of their childhood and remember the love, happiness, and adoration that was poured into it each and every day. The two of them are the sunshine in my day and the happiness that has completed my life.
