Blizzard of 2011

The meteorologists predicted a huge snow storm that would dump around 16 inches of snow as well as cause white out conditions starting Tuesday night. Of course we went to Mcdonalds to play with Adri's friends from school when the blizzard warning started, we weren't scared. :) I actually thought that the storm would probably bypass us like it usually does when the weather people hype it up. By the time we left our play date it had started to snow hard and I was glad to get in our nice warm house.

The snow continued throughout the night and when we woke up on Wednesday it was as high as my knees (at least). It was beautiful outside! Everything was closed around town; schools, businesses, even government buildings. We stayed inside the entire day and enjoyed the downtime. Our generous neighbor came and snow blowed our driveway (as well as the single lady's across the street). I'm still in disbelief at how kind of an act that was. I doubt that he realizes how helpful it was to us. Matt ended up having to work late and not having to still snow blow the driveway after he got home gave him extra time to go outside and enjoy the snow with us. I'm going to work on baking the neighbor brownies tonight as a thank you. :)

Schools are closed around town again today. I'm thinking it's because of the negative temperatures and streets and sidewalks that are still covered in snow. If I was working today I'd be extremely excited to have gotten two snow days off in a row! :) (GRPS rarely closes!)
