Broken horse

I was in the kitchen while Adri was riding her horse this morning when I heard a strange "snap!" and then Adri screaming at the top of her lungs "My horse is broken!". I originally thought it was the spring, like last time she broke the horse (about 6 months ago when the horse snapped and she flew off of it).

I ran into the living room to see this:

It was supposed to look like this:

So, I called Radio Flyer (who has been awesome the past three times I've called, sending out the part immediately), and they put he part in the mail today. We should receive it in the next couple of days since it's coming from Chicago.

After reassuring Adri that the horse could be fixed and Daddy would fix it when he got home (I thought it was a common part and he probably had one lying around somewhere), she spent the day going over to the horse to check if it was fixed and asking me when Daddy was going to get home. She decided that the horse needed a blanket until Daddy got home because it was sick. Lucky horse!

Unfortunately, Matt didn't have the part lying around, and neither did Lowes. So, we will be waiting in suspense until the parts come in a few days. I'm guessing that Adri will only check the horse oh, about 100 times tomorrow to make sure it hasn't been fixed without her knowledge.

Here's a few of my favorite pics from today:

The mess Adri made tonight so that she could see what it was like to be "inside the toybox". I think her response after getting in was "I absolutely love being in the toy box!":
