The library visit and dinner at Nana's

I had the brilliant idea to visit the library with both kids today, knowing full well that they were both grouchy and not going to make it very long. I needed to pick up a few books that I had on hold and thought that if we picked up some books and movies for Adri it might help to cure the cabin fever that is starting to creep in...

Our trip went like this:

Sam screams the entire ride there (he's lost his pacifier, is tired and teething).

Adri's in the backseat bargaining whether or not she can bring in toys to the library all the while telling Sam to be quiet because we are almost there.

I'm in the front seat driving, breathing heavy, counting, and about ready to pull out my hair and turn around to go home. We were almost there though, so I decided to brave it.

I get both of the kids into the stroller and in the library when Adri tells me she's going to play in the kids section. I'm right in the same area grabbing my books on hold and then choosing kids books for her, so it's not a big deal. The next thing I hear, she's screaming at another child for taking a toy away from her that she took away from them originally. Ugggh.

After settling the argument (and making Adri go to a different area), I continue looking for books while Sam cries until I push him around. I look up to see that Adri has taken ALL of the board books off a shelf and has them displayed on the floor. As I tell her to clean them up I smell an awful stench. Adri had decided not to use the potty (again). At this point I'm completely embarassed, and feeling like I definitely should have listened to my instincts and stayed home.

I get her books cleaned up and finally get her to the checkout when she decides SHE needs to check out the books. On a normal day I would let her, but due to the fact that I'm about to have an emotional breakdown, I just want to get it done and get out of there to change her and go home, so I begin checking them out one by one. I get about a third of the way through when Adri starts asking where her receipt is. Confused, I just look at her and see that she's trying to grab the receipt that the computer spits out after you've checked out. As I'm letting her know that she can have it when we're done checking out, she starts pressing buttons on the receipt printer and errors the entire computer which gives me the message to "go to the desk and resume checking out" Ugggh!

I bring all of my books and movies to the next checkout and begin checking them out all over again when Adri begins shaking the stroller and yelling at Sam to wake up. If I could have lost it at that point, I actually might have. I got her out of there as quickly as possible, brought her home, gave her lunch and she went down for a nap. A LONG one. :)

We went to Nana and Papa's for dinner tonight. Here are a few pictures to prove that Nana LOVES to feed Adri candy. (I must admit that I gave the chocolate to Sam Man though.)
