Mommy vs. Adri

I have come to the conclusion that Adri is NOT going to potty train unless forced. She is now almost 3 (at the end of March) and a very smart and capable girl. She is able to tell me that she is "hiding and pooping" and that "she will go on the potty soon, Mama, soon" and sometimes even go in her room to hide and do the deed, so she is more than able to know when she needs to use the potty and follow through on the task.

I am finished changing the diaper of a very large toddler multiple times a day. :) On Saturday she will begin the potty training process that a friend has used with success on both of her boys. (One who is only 3 months older than Adri!) We are taking away her diapers. Yup, no more size 4 diapers in this house for her. She will now wear big girl undies and those waterproof pants over the top to catch any messes. I've been told that when she feels the mess in her underwear that it will force her to begin going on the potty because she will hate it so much. I can only hope. Adri and I will be staying home on Saturday and Sunday, for anyone who wants to come over and visit us. :) I will either come out victorious, or we will be staying home until she sees things my way.

Tomorrow my best college friend will be driving over from the East side of the state and bringing her two boys for our "monthly sleepover". I am so excited to see them all and catch up. In my mind I visualize the kids all playing quietly together, enjoying themselves immensely until nap time, when they quietly go to sleep. The house will stay clean, the kids won't fight, and Sara and I will be able to just sit and have adult conversation. :) Yeah right! There will be no naps, the house will look like a tornado hit it, and Sara and I will have zero time to converse in a normal adult manner. I do know that it will be a fantastic time, we will all be extremely exhausted at the end, and that I look forward to seeing them every month. I can't wait to drive over to her house next month, it's like a mini vacation (not to mention they have the very BEST pizza place over there)!

A few pics from our day today (I took so many it's hard to pick just a few!):

Really Adri, another meltdown? Get control over yourself!

Adri and that darn horse. Yup, it's been fixed. :( Funny how the toy she loves the very most is also the one that's the loudest and the only one Mommy regrets.

Sammy likes to keep his helmet near. You never know when you might need it to protect you from your sister!

Sam's favorite new thing: Throw himself backwards in the tunnel so he flips over as it rolls backwards. Mommy's not so fond of his new stunt.
