Sammy had his one month helmet appointment today, which went wonderfully. I have been able to see results, but feel like I am a little biased because I want to see them so badly.
After looking him over and taking measurements, the orthotist said he could see definite improvements! His diagonal measurement (from his eye to the diagonal side of his head) was 6mm when we first began. It is now 1mm! We are so incredibly happy to be seeing such wonderful results so quickly. Sam has a little more room to grow into the helmet at the base of his head, but beyond that, his head is pretty much the shape it's going to stay.
We should be out of the helmet by his birthday (April 14), but probably before. I think I want to keep him in the helmet at least until he learns to walk and his sister learns to be nice to him. :)
On another note, Sam pulled himself up to his feet for the first time today in his crib. He is growing up WAY too quickly!
This is my attempt to chronicle our family's daily adventures, love, and struggles.
It is my hope that one day Adri and Sammy will read these stories of their childhood and remember the love, happiness, and adoration that was poured into it each and every day. The two of them are the sunshine in my day and the happiness that has completed my life.
