As soon as we got to the farm, Adri couldn't sit still and began asking where the chicks were. We had to wait for Aunt Shannon to get down to the barn, so I took Adri for a quick walk around the farm with the dogs so that she could get her mind off those baby chickens. Unfortunately for me, Adri never forgets and is very rarely sidetracked from something she wants...
Our conversation while waiting for Aunt Shan went something like this:
"Mommy! Where's Aunt Shannon? When can I see the chicks?"
"She's coming Adri, relax. Take a deep breath. Why don't you go run around with the dogs?"
"Where's Aunt Shannon, do you see her?"
"Run with the dogs Adri...Go Go Go!!!"
"Chicks are soft Mommy. They like to be pet."
"Yes Adri. Run! Hurry, Rocket wants you to chase her!"
"I want to pet the chicks Mommy."
"Oh look! There's Aunt Shan! Hurry run to her!"
And so Adri ran over to Shannon, excited to get in the chicken coop to pet the baby chicks. It's funny how the littlest things in life can make her so excited and happy.
Adri says: You have to pet them nice...
