Sunday was a beautifully hot and muggy day. You know, the kind where it's so hot that your make-up sweats off? Yeah, one of those kinds of days. Our temperature gage in the car read 86 degrees. Did we skip Spring and head right into July here in Michigan, is there no gray area? Oh well, I guess I can't complain too much, at least it's not SNOW. :)
We went to Nana and Papa's for a yummy dinner last night. Afterward we headed to the ice cream store for dessert. Sammy seized the opportunity to have his very first ice cream cone alone. He was a "little" messy but he enjoyed every taste of it, that's for sure. Adri didn't fare any better when it came to messiness, she was also covered in ice cream. These are the days they will forever remember, getting to just be kids and enjoy being messy eating their ice cream.
We walked down by the Dam and enjoyed the cool air that it generated. Sammy was pretty excited over the water going over the dam as well as the two snapping turtles sitting down by it. A short walk down the boardwalk was the perfect end to the night. I think I could spend every Sunday this way.
I could ride on the quad with Papa, I'm not scared...It's no fair that Adri always goes first...
Nana's pretty flowers:
If I can't ride the quad too then I'm outta here! You can follow if you want Dada, but you'll never change my mind.
Daddy caught Sammy!
I am so cool! Look Mama! I'm riding with Papa!
Sammy's chance to ride. When Papa turned the quad on Sammy began to scream.
There's everything that means anything in my life, looking down at the rushing water
Sammy got just a little dirty while enjoying his ice cream cone (just for the record, Daddy cleaned BOTH of the kids off after they were finished)
Papa gives Adri a visual of how big the snapping turtles are
Nana loves that little man
Wow! That water is moving FAST! So fast it's blowing my hair back!
Turtle watching:
I love this place, it's so relaxing and beautiful!
Adri wouldn't let go of the wagon, not even for a quick picture:
Testing the water...Yup, it's cold!
Adri's the boss, even when it comes to the wagon.
Help me, someone please! Don't let her take me away!
Out of about 20 photos this is my favorite and has almost everyone looking at the camera (not an easy feat with Adri and Sam)
Adri's meltdown, the end of our night. :)
