a.) we figured out that Sam Man is allergic to rabbits after having two allergic reactions involving his eyes swelling up, becoming extremely red and watering. (Benadryl to the rescue!)
b) had our monthly sleepover with our besties...reuniting the soul siblings Adri and Eli. :) These two are destined to be best friends forever; they are the male and female version of one another. Get them together and you know you're in for great fun, a lot of noise, a huge chase where you have to catch the both of them, and whatever else the two of them might dream up. What one doesn't think of, the other one does.
We drove to Rochester Hills on Thursday. We were, of course, late in our departure. The ride went smoothly with Sammy sleeping the entire way and Adri chatting with me at first and then me finally turning on the Beatles and singing her songs. Adri chimed in with her version of "Good Day Sunshine" and "I Love Her". I will get her hooked on the Beatles. :) (She's already in love with Van Morrison and the song "Brown Eyed Girl" because she thinks it's about her since she has brown eyes.)
We met Sara and the boys at the mall since it was raining. The kids had a great time looking at the fish and ducks inside of the Bass Pro Shop store before heading out to play. After a few other crazy mall trips with Adri and Eli, Sara figured out that if you keep one of them contained in a stroller our mall visit goes a lot smoother (meaning that they aren't running around screaming together with the rest of the mall patrons looking at us in sympathy and/or anger).
The kids played on the food toys and then we had lunch. Afterwards I decided to push it and go for a longer walk around the mall. Eli wanted out of his stroller and walked with Adri nicely before they decided to run away from us shrieking in glee, right into the Ralph Lauren Polo store. The two of them are completely unpredictable, which is why one of them needs to be contained while out in public. At this point we were all pretty tired and decided to go back to Sara's to play outdoors before dinner.
Our outdoor play of course required the kids getting absolutely dirty from head to toe since the backyard was soaked due to the rain and these four kids are drawn to dirt and mud like magnets. We ended up giving them a bath before dinner, all four of them at the same time. Sammy was none too happy with this and screamed the entire time, so I hurried his bath time up and got him out of there. When all the kids were done and the water was drained, the entire bathtub was filled with dirt. I don't think I've ever seen a dirt ring like that before. :) (I'm wishing I had taken a picture of it now!)
Our night ended up with none of us getting a lot of sleep due to one or more of the kids waking up multiple times in the night. Eli ended up waking up and I asked him if he wanted to come sleep with Adri and I. He curled up with Adri on the air mattress and went right back to sleep for most of the night. When I woke up I saw he and Adri all cuddled up and laying together on her pillow pet. Too sweet!
The next day found us tiring the kids out at the park in Rochester. We let them run around like maniacs and play on the playground before heading to eat lunch and us finally leaving. Adri and Sam both slept the entire way home! We had tired them out beyond tiredness. :)
We're eagerly anticipating our June sleepover! This sleepover will have our friends sleeping at our house and a celebration of Eli's 3rd birthday!
Dude, I'm going to put this up here for you since you're not coming down to play in the mud

No Ev. This is my beloved paci, which is why I'm covering it in sand. Do you think it will still taste good with sand on it?

Adri: (Pointing at the lines) No, I just drew the skin.
